Naomi LaViolette’s debut self-titled album features ten original songs with an acoustic niche between the worlds of folk singer-songwriter and jazz soulstress. Fresh arrangements of George Gershwin’s “Our Love Is Here to Stay” and Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” complete LaViolette’s production.

The album was recorded and produced by award-winning engineer and producer Dean Baskerville (Sheryl Crow, Everclear, Pink Martini). Baskerville describes her sound as “if Sarah McLachlan and Norah Jones took a road trip down the Oregon Coast, they’d come back with songs that sound like this.” LaViolette fronts her self-titled 2012 album at the piano with lead vocal, background vocals, synth creations, harmonica and composer of string arrangements. The album also features guitarist Tim Ellis (Aaron Meyer, Michael Allen Harrison, Tom Grant, Craig Carothers), bassist Bill Athens (Nancy King, Mary Kadderly, Trio SubTonic) and drummer Jeramy Burchett (Dirt Poor Robins, 5 O’Clock People). Recording sessions were held at Kung Fu Bakery, Dead Aunt Thelma’s, and Jackpot recording studios.
